Vidu Q4 Preview is a new model (launched 7 Oct 2026) built around reference images and voice references, with output up to 4K. Almost everything you will read about it on social media comes from one paid campaign, and we found no independent tests yet. Try it with free credits or a small pay as you go top up before you subscribe.

What the credits cost in moneyCopy Anchor Link

• The official API page we loaded priced credits in CNY: 1 credit = 0.03125 CNY, with top ups from 500 CNY for 16,000 credits.
• A third party reseller lists Q4 at 0.005 USD per credit, which matches the official credit table. On that basis 720p is about 0.095 USD/second, and a 5 s clip at 720p is about 0.48 USD.
• The same reseller says audio does not change the price and shows 30% off until 30 Nov.
• vidu.com plan prices did not load for us. Third party sites list 10, 35 and 99 USD per month for 800, 4,000 and 8,000 credits. Not confirmed.
• How many credits Q4 costs per second on vidu.com is not confirmed. The site shows it in a tooltip that did not load.

• Subscription credits last 30 days. Purchased and bonus credits last 2 years.
• Subscriptions renew automatically and Vidu gives no refunds.
• Free downloads carry a watermark, unless you watch an ad. Some videos cannot have the watermark removed for copyright reasons.
• Free users have no commercial rights. Paid users can use content commercially under Vidu's terms.

There are no independent community reviews yet, so this list is based on official features only:

• Characters that must match. Up to 15 reference images in one generation.
• A specific voice. Up to 3 voice references with lip synced delivery.
• High resolution delivery. 2K and 4K output without a separate upscaler.
• Short multi shot sequences. Vidu advertises up to 16 s of multi shot storytelling.

• Starting from text. Q4 cannot generate from a prompt alone. You need at least one image.
• Trust. Nearly every post we found was part of one campaign, posted by 10 or more accounts on the same day with the same specs and the same "from 0.014 USD/second" claim. Treat it as advertising until real tests appear.
• Preview status. Features can change. First and last frame and extend are not listed for Q4.

• Start from images. Q4 needs at least one image, and image to video keeps that image's aspect ratio.
• The API docs mention a [@subjects_name] syntax and "@1 and @2" placeholders, but also say subject calls are not yet supported for Q4 Preview. Until that changes, describe each reference in plain words ("the woman in the first image").
• Vidu's own example prompts end with a list of things to avoid, such as "text, subtitles, watermark, logo, flickering image". There is no documented negative prompt field for Q4.
• Camera control at the frame level is a headline feature, but Vidu has not published a list of camera words. Use standard terms: push in, pan, tracking shot, static.
• Prompts can be up to 20,000 characters.

Sound: wok hiss, kitchen clatter, no music.

• Draft at 540p (9 credits per second), less than half the cost of 720p (19). 4K costs 78 credits per second, so render 4K only for the final.
• Use the free credits first. The smallest official API top up is 500 CNY, which is a lot for a test. If you test slowly, note that purchased credits last 2 years while subscription credits disappear after 30 days.
• Failed generations, including moderation, do not use credits on the API.
• Turn off auto renewal right after you subscribe if you only want one month, since Vidu does not refund.
